About the Project

At the Porto de Sergipe thermoelectric power plant, Reditech developed the control software and commissioned the seawater intake system, which is responsible for desalinating and demineralising water by reverse osmosis for supply to the recovery boilers. The system consists of a set of seawater intake pumps, coagulation, flocculation and clarification tanks, mixed bed multimedia filters and a reverse osmosis unit.

Challenge

The project required a control system capable of:

  • processing seawater continuously and safely
  • managing all stages of coagulation, flocculation and clarification
  • precisely controlling filtration and reverse osmosis
  • ensuring reliable production of demineralised water for the boilers
  • being fully tested, validated and commissioned

  • Development of process logic for collection, coagulation, flocculation and clarification
