About the Project

At the Nestlé plant in Feira de Santana (BA), Reditech developed the control software and commissioned the water treatment system. The installation includes several treatment stages, such as filtration, activated carbon, and reverse osmosis, which we integrated into a single logical and reliable control system.

Challenge

• Nestlé needed a modern and reliable control system that could:
• Safely trigger all filtration and reverse osmosis stages
• Monitor chlorine, pH, and turbidity sensors
• Manage automatic chemical dosing (NaOH and antiscalant)
• Offer clear and intuitive visualization for operators
• Be delivered in a safe, stable, and fully commissioned manner

Our contribution:

Control and Automation Software:

• Process logic development for filtration, activated carbon, and Reverse osmosis
• Automatic activation of pumps, valves, and dosing systems
• Integration of chlorine, pH, and turbidity measurements
• Alarm management, safety interlocks, and intuitive operator interface

Intelligent Chemical Dosing:

• Automatic NaOH dosing for pH correction
• Antiscalant dosing to protect Reverse osmosis membranes

Data Monitoring and Processing:

• Real-time water quality monitoring
• Logging of permeate and reject flows
• Logic for efficient and safe process management

Commissioning:

• Testing and validation of the entire control system
• Adjustment of sensor settings and process values
• System startup and handover to plant operators
